My Sweet Dream

I had a dream that was so very sweet
It was about the girl that I love
I dreamed she had returned to be with me
as if on the wings of a dove

We talked for a while and then we parted
knowing that we would talk again soon
And I never thought about it any more
because I wanted so much for it to be true

But it was a dream that I had that night
that made me happy for days
And my dreams of her are loving and sweet
and will always be even when she is away.
