Can I Keep You

Why would anyone ever ask you if they could keep you 
but my love for you runs true and deep
For I dream of you every night and 
without you I would never sleep
I dream of the day we will be together
and this is my true inspiration
For without these sweet thoughts of holding you near
I would have be long for your attention
Our love has endured things big and small
that would break others apart
But because you own all of my soul
I know that we can never part
So many times when we have been together
and you have assured me that for sure
I need not worry about such things
because you have said "I am yours"
So when we are finally together
and all of our dreams become true
I know I will kiss and say I love you
and then ask if "I Can Keep You"
A question of such easy words
but with a meaning you may not understand yet
For if you answered yes to it
you every dream would be met
So I ask you now "Can I Keep You"
and I want your answer to be
yes, for it it is, your life will be filled
with someone who loves you, me.
